Thin sterile needles placed at specific points, chosen from the same examination that decides everything else about your visit. What makes it different here is not the technique, it is who is holding the reasoning. Dr. Simaan has spent more than twenty-five years learning what a given presentation responds to, and the needles go in on the findings of the exam he has just finished.

What electroacupuncture adds

Some presentations get a small current passed between the needles rather than the needles alone. It is used where the goal is to reach a nerve or a muscle that has not responded to the needle by itself, and it is decided in the room rather than booked in advance.

What a session is actually like

The examination comes first, every time. Needles are single use and sterile. Most people describe the insertion as a dull heaviness rather than a sharp pain, and the greater part of a session is spent resting with the needles in place.

If you have never had acupuncture and are unsure about it, say so when you book. It is a common enough starting point that it is not an awkward conversation, and the common questions cover most of what people want to ask first.

When the answer is not acupuncture

Plenty of visits do not use it. The examination decides, and if the problem calls for adjustment alone, that is what happens. Being able to deliver both is what makes it possible to choose honestly between them.
